  This teaching module is developed to assist in the teaching of ELA at the level of 3rd grade for Ohio Standards of RL3.9 Fiction.

  Title: Compare-Contrast Details of Stories by Same Author

  Ideal for Teachers.

• SPECIFICATIONS

  This activity brings together the skills  from prior Grade 3 Reading Literary standards to show how the literary elements in one story compare and contrast to a similar story.  Students compare and contrast the explicit details of two texts, the author’s message or theme, the language used - - if applicable; the point of view, and the illustrations provided.  Students complete a graphic to show this comparison and contrast. 

  The details of this comparison are also the bases for Quick-Writes.  (W 3.1; 3.2; 3.3).   At the end of the activity, students take two tests - - both with items parallel to the OST Released Items.
