The Research Underlying Instructional Design

The Instructional Design process has been used in dozens of schools and school districts since 1990.   It is based on the seminal work in educational theory by heavy-weights like John Dewey, Jean Piaget, Edward Thorndike, Hilda Taba, Jerome Bruner, and Benjamin Bloom — pioneers for what matters most in contemporary education and on whose shoulders stand every contemporary school reformer.

Student Outcome Data to Validate the Instructional Design Process

To earn its place among nationally-validated school reform models, Instructional Design was field-tested between 1997 and 2000 in six Ohio school districts and then evaluated by Dr. Daniel U. Levine (from the National Center for Effective Schools). The data were from the Grade 4 and Grade 6 Ohio Proficiency Test results in Math, Reading, Writing, and Science.
