Ed Focus Initiative

Diane Reimer

d-reimerAs a former elementary classroom teacher in pre-school through grade four, I have had the opportunity to teach in urban, suburban, international, and Montessori Schools. Serving as Department Chair and curriculum leader during my tenure gave me the opportunity to impact the learning lives of teachers and students of many cultures. I believe that diversity enriches school and classroom environments; it creates synergy for working together to find solutions.

Having students feel a sense of community is one of my biggest passions. As such, I have successfully developed constructive and productive classroom communities that work cooperatively. I support using structured experiences that build acceptance, trust, cooperation, and mutual respect, and know that creating a healthy, risk-free learning environment builds confidence and motivation for academic success.

Through my work with EdFOCUS, I am able to interact with so many people and share ideas and thoughts for making the classroom a source of energy for learning. I especially enjoy the one-on-one conversations with primary teachers about their classrooms and the children.
