My work with EdFOCUS centers on the beliefs and practices I have come to value as a career educator and teacher leader. Students learn when they are actively engaged in important and challenging work that focuses on constructing meaning and applying ideas and learnings as they experiment, analyze, investigate and create. The world awaits their new ideas.
As teachers we must view ourselves as educational leaders focusing our efforts on the ever-expanding needs and possibilities encountered by our students. We must aim for continuous professional growth and strive to change the status quo through collaboration---sharing our effective practices, strategies and new knowledge with colleagues--- and the creation of initiatives that will impact student growth and become imbedded in our school culture because of their effectiveness and because they are valued.
EdFOCUS affords me the opportunity to work with educational leaders at all levels who wish to collaborate, create and share their vision.
